Let me see...2004 - that was the year i was given a big task... to start a modern dance CCA. Wow .. a new school..new students...now new CCA. Quite excited, nervous and actually scaryy..... Luckily i got a good advisor ..my hubby .. telling me .. "It is a matter of time they will learn to like you.. You are what you are ". Kinda give me the courage to take the task and put on a brave front.
I remember the students that i met and auditioned. not really friendly but talented. Before that i got a few who came cos they were forced by ME... and they left after being terrorised by me. Reason: Refusal to move even after I have played the music. I cant understand ??.
Anyway i got a few bunch of dancers who came with that face. Ugly very ugly..better not mentioning names. I saw their talent and passion but they hate me like crazy. I learnt from someone saying it is ok to be hated for the right reason as long as you dont hate them. really i was mad at their attitude towards me but i respect their talent and commitment so i just ignore their vicious look. As the days passed, we began to see eye to eye and they began to know me better. It took quite a well for us to bond but it is WORTHY. Knowing them actually knowing myself and pushing myself to the limit. The way the pioneers worked hard both academically and artistically impressed me so much. Honestly i myself will walk out if i got to work under a teacher like myself. I did once walked out from Najib's rehearsal cos i dont like the way he shourted for no apparent reasons. Due to that i lost the biggest chance to work under a talented person. A few times i walked out from big and talented people like Gurmit and some producers because i refused to follow their style and i ended being a loser. So i guessed these pioneers have better attitude than me during my teenage life and i think i am vey lucky to get them.
How time flies and i got a new batch of sec one in 2005.(the current sec 3). Wow another batch to tame. This batch has a different attitude more receptive and listened to me as though i am great. Nevetheless i do appreciate their upmost respect. It is just that their talents is a bit to a down side when i got to know them and they definitley lacked the vibrant. Eventually they picked up fast after again i terrorised them Hahahaaa! Finally they showed me their strength and fangs..with the help of our Maliha's shouting and lecturing. I remember this batch cos i made one dancer cried but now she is a good dancer. And my twin towers( no offence) i will remember them.
The second new batch in 2006 (the current sec 2). Happy finally i got some chinese in my dance group cos i hate it when students think that modern dance is a Malay CCA. That is not true, I am not biase as someone claimed i am (not one time many times) but i really open it to any races to join the CCA. This batch is a mixed up batch. Some are good and some a so-so. Definitely a different but interesting batch. Look can be deceiving. Why i say that? They look decent but once i got to know them at genting they are as crazy as the pioneers. More vocal and vibrant. Still need to work on initiative. It was indeed great to get them as i see their passion and talents.
The latest batch 2007. New , innocent, excited and committed. Only managed to know a few and yet want to get to know the rest. I bet there are more carzy dancers apart from Emily, fabian and Terrance. i really hope i have the chance to work with them and nurture them for SYF 2009. Cant wait for that moment.
This year i got to know some talents from other students. Talented yes they are ......given exposure no no.. Thought i go ahead with this crazy idea and tried to tap the talents. Need them to trust me and work with them. First must persuade them to join NVmoderndance cos i know they hate me like crazy cos i ever taught them when they were in sec 2. i definitley left a great impression for them. I was quite happy when they accepted my proposal. Not to mention the problems i got to face when dealing with each of them. came late for training, did not listen, make so much noise, no discipline and sometimes did not show up at all. i know i cant give up on them cos i need the school to know their talents which i respected a lot. Finally these guys showed me what they are made off and they definitely rose to the occasion. thank you. It was indeed fascinating. My thanks to:

NV modern dance experieces and the dancers have brought a lot tears of joy and incredible moments. I rather forget the bad experiences and stick to the good ones cos i believe everyone make mistakes. Let those who does it remember and learn it so as not to hurt others. As for me students will be students..not everyone will like you and not everyone will hate you but they are my students and i wished them all the best in their studies ,career and may be granted a fruitful life.
Hopefully we will still be a big family, support one another and keep in touch no matter where you are. I love my job as your Teacher-in-charge and i wish next year will be more crazy bunch of dancers joining us.
